Diagnosing the Problem – Searching for the missing feature during a migration

Overview

I have seen some code out there for enumerating features which is great.  If you are missing a feature during a migration and all you have is the Feature ID you can search the Features folder in the originating 12 hive for the Feature ID in the .xml files.  This will take you to the folder the feature was installed from.

Diagnostic:

Search the Feature folder in the 12 hive for the Feature for “75a0fea7-775b-4ae1-bbc6-ad5ef0d22413” in an XML file.   Make sure that you are search for the ID in the contents of the xml.
